ABOUT US

WHAT WE DO:

The Bozeman Sports Medicine clinic was founded by Dr. Erik Adams in 2019 in Bozeman, Montana. After 15 years as a musculoskeletal specialist, Dr. Adams saw the need for a new clinic in Bozeman. One that offered advanced technology for the optimal evaluation of, and recovery from, musculoskeletal and exercise-related conditions. Utilizing Musculoskeletal Ultrasound and PRP Injections, we are at the forefront of regenerative medicine.

Dr. Adams also values a personal approach to medical care, treating everyone as a unique person and taking his or her condition very seriously. Our treatments are evidence-based and are backed by continual education and training. To learn more about what we offer please see our TREATMENTS and FAQ pages.

WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO:

Musculoskeletal (MSK) injury is a major barrier to pursuing physical activity goals and maintaining health. Our purpose is to successfully treat MSK conditions to not only decrease pain and improve quality of life, but also to return our patients to full physical activity.

OUR MISSION:

The goal in everything  we do is to encourage our patients to live an active life. A healthy life must be an active life. We utilize cutting edge diagnostic and treatment methods to address musculoskeletal conditions that stand in the way of physical activity. If you have questions about what we offer and how we can help you reach your peak level of health please contact us.

Dr. Adams has been practicing medicine for over 20 years. He earned a PhD in Organic Chemistry at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, did his medical residency at the University of Wisconsin, and a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Maine Medical Center with Dr. William Dexter. After his training his family moved to Madison, Wisconsin where he worked as a Primary Care Sports Medicine physician focusing on musculoskeletal and exercise-related conditions.

In 2016, Dr. Adams, his wife, their youngest son, their dog and cat moved from Wisconsin to Bozeman.  He enjoys riding the bike trails, skiing with his son, and hiking.  Some of his photography can be seen on the walls of the clinic.

Why I do what I do: Musculoskeletal (MSK) injury is a major barrier to our pursuing our physical activity goals and maintaining our health. My purpose is to successfully treat MSK conditions to not only decrease pain and improve quality of life, but also to return my patients to full physical activity.

Erin, Medical Assistant

Erin is a native of Montana, born and raised in Livingston. She studied social work at the University of Montana in Missoula where she also trained as a Medical Assistant at St. Patrick Hospital. After UM, she returned to Livingston to continue her studies in social work at Montana State University.

In 2013, she and her family moved to Bozeman where she joined Dr. Adams to provide a team approach to patient care. When not at the clinic helping patients, Erin is a licensed Property Manager, helping our community with its housing needs.

She and her husband have 3 daughters and a furry son named Dodger. In their free time her family prefer to be outside camping, rafting, or watching baseball, and Erin is particularly fond of sitting on the sidelines at their daughters' volleyball games.

Why I do what I do: I love patient care and the connections I make in medicine. Injury and illness can cause a lot of anxiety and fear in patients. My job is to make you feel welcome, at ease and comfortable with your care plan while walking alongside you on your road to recovery. Every day, I look forward to being a part of the Bozeman Sports Medicine team. If you have been injured or are experiencing pain during activity, I’d love to meet you and be in your corner!
